Interior design is more than just arranging furniture or choosing a colour scheme—it’s about creating spaces that reflect personality, foster comfort, and improve functionality. As the way we live and work continues to evolve, so too does the art and science of interior design. From enhancing aesthetic appeal to optimizing everyday convenience, interior design plays a vital role in shaping the environments where we spend the majority of our time. All of this is taken into consideration when designing our apartments. In this article, we’ll explore the key principles, trends, and insights that define contemporary interior design, and offer inspiration to transform any space into a harmonious and dynamic reflection of its occupants.
Landsdown Malvern
If you’ve explored our properties, you may have noticed that Landsdown Malvern truly stands out as an exceptional apartment, embodying luxury in every way. We were excited to take on the challenge of revamping Malvern with the latest interior design trends. While the apartment itself was already beautiful, we felt that there was even more potential waiting to be unlocked!
Front Room
The front room of Malvern is truly the heart of the apartment, boasting high ceilings and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that enhance its classic charm. Embracing the latest interior design trends, we focused on amplifying the natural light and creating a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Previously, the room featured a mix of grey and dark furniture, with heavy lampshades that contributed to a colder, more sombre ambience. To update the space, we swapped out the dark pieces for soft creams and warm neutrals, infusing the room with a sense of comfort and lightness. A rich dark green was added to complement the original rustic-painted wall, which harks back to the property’s historical roots. In the glass room, we chose to keep the space minimalist and furniture-free, removing the previous Chaise Lounge to allow guests the flexibility to use the area as they wish.
Master bedroom
The master bedroom was a project we were especially excited to tackle. Featuring a stunning stand-alone bathtub positioned by the window, the space had incredible potential for creating a true luxury retreat. Initially, the bedroom mirrored the front room with a similar colour scheme, which resulted in a rather chilly atmosphere. This was something we wanted to change to align with our core value of making our properties feel like a home away from home. To warm up the space, we replaced the grey velvet sofa, which felt out of place and too cold, with more inviting furnishings. A new vanity table was added, and we refreshed the linens and headboard to infuse the room with a bright, welcoming ambience. The result is a serene, comfortable environment that feels as indulgent as it is relaxing.
Kitchen/Dining Room
The kitchen at Malvern is centrally located, so functionality and style must seamlessly blend. We dedicated considerable effort to creating a space that feels both homely and luxurious. Following British Vogue’s 2025 interior design guide, we chose to retain the dark beige cupboards for their timeless elegance while introducing cream chairs to brighten the space and create a lighter, more inviting atmosphere. The kitchen remains spacious, offering plenty of room to cook, entertain, and unwind.
Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom at the back of the property features a double bed and tranquil views of the mews. Originally, two bulky cabinets flanked the headboard, making the space feel cramped. To open up the room, we removed the cabinets and replaced them with smaller, more streamlined bedside tables that better suited its proportions. The colour scheme follows the home’s overall aesthetic, with dark curtains paired with light beige pillows and crisp white linens, achieving a simple yet cosy atmosphere.
The Malvern transformation showcases modern interior design that balances style and functionality. We blended luxurious elements with practical solutions to create spaces that are both beautiful and comfortable. From the warm master bedroom to the tranquil guest room, each space is thoughtfully designed to reflect the personality and needs of its inhabitants. The result is a home that feels like a true sanctuary—welcoming, functional, and full of character. Click the button to book Landsdown Malvern for your next luxury stay!
