The Cheltenham Jazz Festival is one of Cheltenham’s large festivals and hosts up to 20,000 Jazz lovers each year. The festival celebrates a mixture of jazz genres so that there is something for all types of fans. There are also a variety of performance styles, from larger concerts to master classes to intimate club shows. Previous guests include Katie Melua, Paloma Faith, Hugh Laurie, Eartha Kitt, and Corinne Bailey Rae. 

Whilst the key site for the festival is set within Montpellier Gardens, there are pop-up events throughout Cheltenham. In 2022, over 34,800 tickets were issued, and an estimated 25,000 people enjoyed free music in Montpellier Gardens and at Jazz Festival gigs around the town. That’s a lot of people enjoying the festivities throughout the week!

In addition to the paid performances throughout the festival, there is a variety of music playing on the free stage in Montpellier Gardens so that you can soak up the festival atmosphere with a bite to eat or a drink from one of the local vendors at the festival. Benches are scattered throughout so you can sit down and enjoy the ambience, but many bring blankets to create an atmospheric picnic.

Perfect location and added bonus with 2 car parking spaces which meant we could walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Very clear and timely communications with the office at all stages… Even with a last minute change on some logistics. Felt like a real home from home.
