Cheltenham’s Science Festival delves into the fun and thought-provoking world of science through multiple events – there’s something suitable for all ages. The Science Festival is perhaps the most interactive of the four main Cheltenham festivals, with lots of hands-on interactive activities to try – you might learn how to code a robot, compete against others on a race track, solve puzzles or hear from young changemakers on topics such as neurodiversity and sustainable fashion.

There can be surprises in addition to the pre-scheduled events. For example, last year, the founder of an aeronautical engineering company, Gravity, was seen flying around using a jetpack (yes, really!).

Witness scientists conducting wacky demonstrations on the stage and others discussing important scientific matters from healthcare to the climate. Whether you’re looking for something fun or thought-provoking, there’s an event for you at the Science Festival.

In addition to the paid events during the festival, there are some free activities, such as solving challenges and the chance to quiz scientists on their cutting-edge research.

There are numerous food and drink stalls onsite, too, so you can enjoy the buzzing atmosphere whilst enjoying a bite to eat. The festival is located in Cheltenham’s Imperial Gardens in the heart of Cheltenham, so you can also enjoy Central Cheltenham after the festival’s activities.
