Cheltenham’s Gold Cup Festival is a renowned sporting event in the UK and a must for horse racing enthusiasts worldwide; the Gold Cup Festival was attended by over 70,000 people in 2023. It is well known by avid horse racing fans and the general public as a famous British event. It is one of the UK’s top 10 most-attended sporting events each year.
The festival’s first day has previously seen course records broken on more than one occasion, so it is not one to be missed. Day two of the festival is Ladies’ Day, which sees women attendees dressing to impress. Day three of the festival is St Patrick’s. Thursday sees the horses and jockeys put on a show for a star-studded crowd of visitors. The festival wraps up on day four in the exciting finale.
Although the festival’s focus is horse racing, fashion is a popular aspect of the event. Whilst Cheltenham Racecourse doesn’t have a specific dress code, smart wear is commonplace amongst festival attendees, with attendees often dressing to the nines; unique, statement headwear pieces often accompany ladies’ outfits. This is best showcased on day two of the festival – Ladies’ Day.
Along with Cheltenham accommodation, there are onsite hospitality options, including private dining options for those who want a unique way to celebrate a memorable day.
