Cheltenham Music Festival is one of the highlights of the British summer calendar — and in 2026, it’s set to be better than ever. Running across two weeks in July, the festival brings world-class performances to a town that was made for this kind of occasion. Regency architecture, candlelit venues, open-air stages in Imperial Gardens, and the particular energy of Cheltenham in full swing.

Whether you’re coming for the headline classical concerts at the Town Hall, a late-night jazz performance, or simply to soak up the atmosphere, you’ll need somewhere to stay that lives up to the occasion. Here’s everything you need to know.

About Cheltenham Music Festival 2026

The festival typically runs across two weeks in July, with events spread across multiple venues including the Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Room, and outdoor spaces in Imperial Gardens. The programme mixes classical orchestral performances with contemporary commissions, chamber music, and late-night events that spill into the town’s excellent bar and restaurant scene.

Tickets can be booked directly through the festival website, and we’d recommend doing so early — the most popular performances sell out months in advance.

Why Stay in a Serviced Apartment for Music Festival?

Hotels near the festival venues fill quickly and command high prices during festival weeks. A serviced apartment gives you considerably more for your money: a full kitchen for pre-concert suppers, a proper living space to relax in after an evening performance, and the kind of quiet that lets you enjoy the music rather than the sound of hotel corridors.

All of our town centre apartments are within easy walking distance of the Town Hall and Imperial Gardens — many within five minutes on foot. You won’t need a taxi after the late-night sessions.

Where to Stay in Cheltenham for the Music Festival

Our apartments span one to five bedrooms, making them ideal for everything from a couple’s long weekend to a group of friends sharing for the full fortnight. All include:

  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Egyptian cotton linen and hotel-quality towels
  • Fast WiFi and a comfortable workspace
  • Welcome hamper on arrival
  • Weekly housekeeping
  • Our private guest app — with our insider recommendations for Cheltenham restaurants, cafes, and things to do

Properties in our Montpellier collection are particularly popular during Music Festival, given their proximity to the Town Hall and the Promenade’s excellent restaurants for a pre-concert dinner.

Pre-Concert Dining in Cheltenham

Cheltenham’s food scene has grown considerably in recent years, and the area around the Town Hall is particularly well served. A few of our favourites for a pre-concert supper:

The Ivy Montpellier Brasserie — all-day dining in an elegant setting, perfect for a long evening before a late performance. Brasserie Blanc on the Promenade offers classic French cooking in beautiful surroundings. For something more relaxed, Ox in a Box is excellent — and considerably easier to book at short notice.

If you’re staying in one of our self-catering apartments, the Cheltenham Farmers’ Market (every second Friday on the Promenade) is an ideal stop for local produce — artisan bread, local cheese, charcuterie — everything you need for an evening in.

Booking Your Stay

Music Festival is one of our busiest periods. We’d always recommend booking direct — you’ll get the best available rate with no platform fees, and our team is on hand to answer any questions before and during your stay.
