The popular Cheltenham Music Festival is coming back to Cheltenham this Summer, running from 8th – 15th July. As with every year, there are many fantastic musical acts to see throughout the week of the festival.
Cheltenham Music Festival is an annual event celebrating classical music. Having started in 1945, the festival is nearing 80 years old.
Cheltenham’s Music Festival takes place over the course of about a week, and attendees can book tickets to see their favourite acts.
Similar to the other core festivals, there are opportunities for young people. Pupils can participate in the festival with their schools. This is to encourage another generation of classical music lovers.
There is also a spotlight on previous young musician winners, including 2022 winners, and the 2023 winner who is accompanied by the BBC Philharmonic.
Cheltenham Music Festival has numerous events taking place throughout Cheltenham. Each event specifies the location within Cheltenham e.g. Pittville Pump Room, the Everyman Theatre or Cheltenham Town Hall.
You will also find musical groups popping up throughout the town centre to give street performances for passersby which adds to the vibrancy of the town during the event.
There are several acts to watch throughout this year’s Music Festival. You can discover who is performing, where, and when over on the Cheltenham Festivals website.
Some musicians playing this year include the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Carice Singers, Chineke!, and spotlights on previous young musician winners.
Cheltenham Music Festival operates a little differently than some other festivals. As an attendee, you can pick and choose which acts you want to see and book tickets per act. This can be done via the What’s On section of the Cheltenham Music Festival page.
Due to the popularity of the festival, tickets for certain acts can become quickly sold out. If you become a Cheltenham Festival member, you have priority access to booking tickets. The membership funds also support access to free events at the festivals.
You can book tickets online, via phone, or in person through an on-site box office. Learn more about the booking process for Cheltenham Festivals.
